Improve the Curb Appeal of Your Home
How important is curb appeal? Take a drive through your neighborhood and make notes on which houses grab your attention and why. Most likely the ones that do are those with green lawns, pruned bushes and weeded flower beds. It’s not likely an over grown front lawn is going to entice you inside. Curb appeal can add value to your home and to your neighbors, HGTV estimates a well maintained landscape can add as much as 10% to the value of your home.
Oh but the cost! Having attractive landscaping does not have to be expensive. A well maintained lawn, carefully placed bushes or plantings, neat mulch and you’re well on your way. Adding a splash of color with seasonal flowers can also enhance your homes curb appeal. Make sure that flower beds are not over grown with weeds fighting for space with flowers. Another advantage to having your bushes and trees tended to is over grown bushes that cover windows or grow over paths and entry ways to garages etc…can prove to be a security risk, providing places for intruders to lurk and hide.
Your home is one of the major purchases any of us make, having a well maintained lawn and garden not only keeps your homes value up but shows pride of ownership. It can make your house the one on the block that everyone slows down to look at as they drive by
