Fertilizing needs this month:

It can be beneficial to feed your lawn with a fertilizer that is high in potassium in late October/early November. This will help winterize your lawn and protect it during the winter months, allowing it to thrive when spring returns. 

Pruning needs this month:

Heavy pruning in the fall months leaves your trees and shrubs with wounds that leave them susceptible to diseases and ultimately shortens the plants lifespan. Something that you CAN do this fall to keep your trees and shrubs looking clean and healthy is to remove any dead or falling limbs. This will keep your trees and shrubs looking tidy, without damaging them during the fall and winter months. 

Pests and diseases to look out for this month:

This November, continue to keep an eye out of common South Carolina garden pests like spider mites, and aphids. The lingering fall moisture can also be a concern for fungal diseases in your garden. It is also pretty common to start noticing an increase of snails and slugs in the garden during the fall months.
