Chinch bugs
What to do about chinch bugs?
It’s that time of the year where chinch bugs can become problematic. If you have a St. Augustine lawn then your lawn is more susceptible to cinch bug infestation than other grasses. There is a resemblance to other lawn issues such as brown patch. The easiest way to tell the difference is that brown patch tends to manifest in a circular pattern while chinch bug damage is irregular in shape. Don’t panic but do call your landscaper if you see evidence of chinch bugs in between visits.
This is an example of what to look out for –
Watering is important to control chinch bugs as well dry lawns are a breeding ground.
