Dwarf Camellias and Small Spaces
If you have a small area that you’d like to plant a low maintenance evergreen, a dwarf camellia could be a great option for you! There are two types of dwarf camellias, ‘shishi grashira’ camellias and ‘mine no take’ camellias. Shishi gashira blooms white, and mine no take blooms pink. While camellia japonicas (full sized camellias) grow up to 12 feet in height and 8 feet in width, these two varieties of dwarf camellia only reach heights of about 4-5 feet and a width of 6-8 feet. These camellias bloom from October to December and can handle more sun exposure compared to full sized camellias, which thrive in shady areas.
