A Guide To Sun Labels

You may have noticed when you buy plants, they are most likely to have a label attached to it telling you how much sun the plant needs. This label could say “sun”, “shade”, or “part shade”. Here is a key that you can refer to that will help you understand exactly how to interpret these sun labels:
- “sun” = at least six hours of direct sunlight (with no shadows)
- “part shade” = 4-6 hours of direct sunlight
- “shade” = less than 4 hours of direct sunlight
