Plants For Wet Soil

Plants For Wet Soil

There are many reasons why sitting water may accumulate in your garden. It could be due to poor drainage, improper grading, or compacted soil, just to name a few. While there are many different methods of improving the issues that are causing the water accumulation, it is still a good idea to make sure that anything that you plant in this area can handle “wet feet” – meaning it can survive with consistently soggy soil in their root systems. Here are some plants for wet soil:

  • Swamp milkweed
  • Sweet joe-pye-weed
  • Lily of the valley
  • Irises
  • Marsh marigolds
